HELLO FROM OHIO 🙂
WE LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING YOU
We are primarily folks from working class backgrounds, who are all organizing to protect one another from the threat of fascism. Some of us are being threatened more than others. That's not nice.
We came together for the community defense of what are called Drag Story Hours. These are where Drag Queens and Kings read children's books to kids and their families. It's all about acceptance, empathy, love, compassion, and being our "authentic selves." We need more of this everywhere.
But the "goose-steppers" disagree. That's an old school term for a Nazi, all mindlessly marching. They conform, obey, submit to authority, and other shit like that. We're about building support among our co-workers and community to defend ourselves from fascism.
COMMUNITY DEFENSE
Wherever and whenever possible, we must defend our communities and workplaces, directly opposing fascists and anyone else trying to force systems of oppression on us.
Though we say defense, sometimes truly defending requires taking a bit more of an offensive approach. In our case, we believe that the November 2024 elections could result in fascist dictatorship and large-scale violence.
Here in Ohio, fascist violence might happen either way. We aren't about to just sit around and wait for this to possibly happen, especially because the most threatened among us already have targets on our backs. We know that so-called "law and order" won't save us, and we aren't really sure which side the police are actually on.
So we're building a movement to bring democracy to the streets, to bring democracy to our workplaces, to strike and bring the economy to a grinding halt if Trump wins the election. Who knows, we might have to do this either way.
Oh, before we forget, our authentic selves are anti-fascist. We don't want to be settler colonists on stolen land.
